I'm Back!

Hi all. I'm Back!
First of all I'm sorry I haven't been posting recently, this is due to the fact I had a few big exams, but they are over now so rejoice! The summer is here!

Yesterday I bought the Warriors of Chaos army book and battalion as well a box of warriors from the other day. If I proxy a few warriors and a sorcerer it puts me at 1500 pts. That's great because now I can play a few games and write some tactica which is even better as I have never written tactica before! YAY! I am going to be doing painting guides for my battalion, starting obviously with the humble chaos war hound. I will not be doing a painting guide for the warriors of chaos as the champion uses their colour scheme. I am also toying with the ideo of doing a video series for new releases. So if you have any idea's for the blog post them below, or you could stare at the screen till saturday when 2 articles(one tactica and one painting) will magically appear on the blog.
See you on saturday!

Finecast Exalted Champion of Khorne.

Hi all.
Due to technical problems I could not do the video, but nonetheless I persevered and I have a painting guide for you. How to paint the Exalted Champion of Khorne my way!

Paints you will need;
Blood red.
Blazing Orange.
Thraka Green.
Dheneb Stone.
Dessert yellow.
Kommando Khaki.
Skull White.
Devlun Mud.
Tin Bitz.
Shining Gold.
Boltgun Metal.
Enchanted Blue.
Asurman Blue.
Graveyard Earth.

Wow! Now that was a big list. I didn't realise I was using so many paints. Oh well... Here we go.

Step 1)Paint all of the armour Blood Red. Try to get the coat as smooth as possible.

Step 2) While you are waiting for that to dry; paint the entire cloak Dhene Stone.

Step 3) Now go back to the armour and paint all of the trim Tin Bitz. Then dry brush the cloak desert yellow, then Kommando Khaki, then highlight the cloak skull white and then finally wash it Devlun Mud.

Step 4) Highlight the armour blazing orange and then mix a 3:1 tinbitz and shining gold and layer that on top of the trim. Then go over the trim in shining gold. The finished trim should look like this.
Step 5) Paint the skulls dheneb stone and wash devlun mud. Paint all the small details(ie. the eyes and sheild). To paint the axe blade, paint the blade a 3:1 boltgun metal and asurman blue. Then wash Thraka green.

Step 6) Let me introduce my friend..
My friend Freddie posing for the camera!
Do not get distracted! At this point your eyes will be tired and you will want to stop but you only have one step left. Do not get distracted ny the lure of dice as we did. Although it is worth noting Freddie went a bit to far...
I always thought he was a GW gremlin in disguise.
Step 7) Finally wash your model in Thrak Green. Do not get any ink on the cloak, skulls, etc. You final result should look a little like this!

And that's how you paint a Chaos Exalted Champion of Khorne my way! If you would like to see more guides, reviews and video's please follow the blog.
All the best!

Citadel Finecast.

Hi all.
Yesterday a managed to find an hour to go down to my local Games-Workshop and I bought an Exalted Khorne Hero(finecast). I thought what better way to kick start both of my project(my personal army and covering new releases) than begin with a model in my army which is also a new release! That is exactly what I did.

Wow! The photographs of these finecasts in the White Dwarf really don't give them justice. When you hold the, and look at the actual model you see the superb depth of detail; it was as though every stroke of the sculpting knife was a separate piece of work to the sculptor.

In conclusion, I am very happy with the new finecasts and hope I never have to paint a metal model again. Of course I will be doing a painting video and the earliest it will be on this blog and on youtube will be next week Friday.

The beginning.

Hi all, this is my fist post for my painting and modelling/reveiws blog. I suppose I am writing this blog because I have a passion for what I do. I enjoy it and I think it is a very good hobby. I am an enthusiast of the wargaming hobby.

In this blog, I will be reviewing the new products as well as working on my own army, Warriors of Chaos. I have recently been getting rid of new models so I have put them on ebay. I have put on ebay a unit of Empire Handgunners, a unit of Blood Angels Terminators and a unit of Eldar Rangers. Unfortunately I am using a school computer which blocks both my painting and modelling blog on dakkadakka(total wargmaer, my username is delrohir) and ebay, so I cannot include a link or pictures but this evening they will be here.

I am going to update this blog every Wednesday, starting with reviewing the amazing new citadel finecasts. I will be writing a review and doing a painting video. In the video I will be painting the new Khorne Lord finecast(what better way to start my army and review a new release!) and assembling/basing it.
You can find the photo's below.
